UW Sakura 2012

Five alive again, on the Quad at the University of Washington.

These were shot last Friday. I was on campus for a departmental TA meeting before the quarter starts, so I figured I’d go early to get a few shots in. Packed my 7D (to give it some use every now and then :D) and 3 lenses (because I knew I wanted to use my macro, along with my standard 16-35 and 70-200); couldn’t have asked for better weather.

When I got to the quad it was…quiet. Beautifully so. I clicked my headphones off, and when I took them out the birds were chirping, and there wasn’t a soul in sight. My breath showed, a white mist, as I walked from shade to sun and back again. It was a cool, crisp, March morning. It was paradise.

The weather and the blossoms only get better from here, so tune in later for more!

On to the pics:

  1. Really sexy colors sir, well done. We’re still a week or two away from sakura blossoming here, but you can bet I will have the 100L out too when the time comes!

  2. Breathtaking shots Brian! The detail is incredible and great spring shots! I love that electric blue sky 😀 Well done
