UW Sakura 2012
Five alive again, on the Quad at the University of Washington.
These were shot last Friday. I was on campus for a departmental TA meeting before the quarter starts, so I figured I’d go early to get a few shots in. Packed my 7D (to give it some use every now and then :D) and 3 lenses (because I knew I wanted to use my macro, along with my standard 16-35 and 70-200); couldn’t have asked for better weather.
When I got to the quad it was…quiet. Beautifully so. I clicked my headphones off, and when I took them out the birds were chirping, and there wasn’t a soul in sight. My breath showed, a white mist, as I walked from shade to sun and back again. It was a cool, crisp, March morning. It was paradise.
The weather and the blossoms only get better from here, so tune in later for more!

Really sexy colors sir, well done. We’re still a week or two away from sakura blossoming here, but you can bet I will have the 100L out too when the time comes!
Thanks dude, looking forward to seeing the real sakura (you know, not like these fake US ones hehe)
Breathtaking shots Brian! The detail is incredible and great spring shots! I love that electric blue sky 😀 Well done
Thanks, hope you can get some more shots in of the blossoms before the season’s over 🙂
Very nice. Great blue sky.
